This design will reflect the park and its history. In homage to the cast iron frame construction of the Crystal Palace, a steel frame is being considered as the primary structure for the new buildings.
This new structure will allow for the use of a variety of material finishes on the exterior of the buildings, balancing heavy, hard materials that can stand up to the wear and tear of a farm environment, with lighter, softer materials that maintain a feeling of openness and airiness.
The sketches below show the proposed animal pavilion.Above: the proposed animal pavilion, as viewed from the existing croft building to the east.
